As the urban world population grows, fact that’s noticed in Brazil as well, the urban problems become recurrent, for example the rain floods. Alternative actions to minimize the environmental impacts of the urbanization have to be implemented, the use of green roofs is one option, focusing on reducing the rain water flow. A few studies show the capacity of green roofs to retain rain water flow, without mentioning the kind of vegetation. The objective of this study is to show how the vegetation species affects on the rain water retention in the city of Curitiba. The present study tested six different vegetal species: Bulbine frutescens, Tradescantia zebrina varition Purpusii, Sedum mexicanum, Callisia repens, Arachis Repens and Zoysia tenuifolia , analysing the results is possible to see that there’s a significant variation on the water retention accordingly to the vegetation species, the Bulbine frutescens has proven to have the best performance among all analised species.

Com o aumento da população urbana mundial, problemas urbanos passam a ser recorrentes, como por exemplo, as inundações em decorrência da precipitação. Ações que minimizem os impactos ambientais do processo de urbanização passam a ser necessárias, uma dessas ações é a aplicação de telhados verdes, que devido as suas propriedades retém parte da água da chuva e ainda retardam o escoamento dessa água. Alguns estudos demonstram a capacidade de retenção dos telhados verdes, entretanto, sem vincular ao tipo de vegetação. O objetivo da presente pesquisa é verificar a influência da espécie vegetal, utilizada em telhados verdes, na retenção e água de chuva na cidade de Curitiba. Através do estudo em seis espécies vegetais diferentes Bulbine frutescens , Tradescantia zebrina variação Purpusii , Sedum mexicanum , Callisia repens , Arachis Repens e Zoysia tenuifolia . Com esta análise pode-se perceber que existe uma variação de retenção significativa em função da espécie vegetal, sendo que a espécie Bulbine frutescens apresentou o melhor desempenho entre as espécies analisadas.

Previous research has investigated how performance outcome impacts effort and subsequent goal pursuit. However, little is known about the incidental impact of goal (non)attainment on consumer preference via changes in regulatory focus. This paper aims to suggest that performance feedback has a direct impact on consumers’ regulatory focus, which in turn influences their attitudes and preferences toward future events. Additionally, the authors assess the extent to which emotions arising out of goal (non)attainment play a critical role in the process.,In a series of three experiments, this paper demonstrates that goal (non)attainment induces a specific regulatory focus, which in turn interacts with the frame of an upcoming advertisement to impact consumer preference.,This research demonstrates that previous goal (non)attainment interacts with the framing of an upcoming message (promotion vs prevention) and impacts consumer preference. The authors also find initial evidence for the role of emotions on the relationship between goal (non) attainment and preferences for regulatory-focused message frames.,The findings have important implications because they reveal consumers’ preferences after goal (non)attainment.,This study complements prior research by integrating two research streams (goal pursuit and regulatory focus) to address an open question of whether/how goal (non)attainment impacts message persuasiveness and consumer preference through changes in regulatory focus. Therefore, this research is intended to contribute to the literature by addressing the interacting effects of goal attainment and regulatory focus on consumer decisions and the role of emotions in this process.
