We investigate a rotating black hole embedded in a five-dimensional flat bulk by extending the Kerr metric through the Gürses-Gürsey line element. Employing Boyer-Lindquist coordinates, we reinterpret the black hole as a charged-like object in five dimensions and analyze its horizon structure and shadow morphology. Our results reveal that the shadow is shaped by an axially symmetric gravitational field modulated by an extrinsic curvature term arising from the higher-dimensional embedding. Simulations demonstrate that the visibility amplitude and shadow profile of the Gürses-Gürsey black hole align with Event Horizon Telescope observations of $$\hbox {M87}^{*}$$ in the Kerr limit, while also allowing measurable deviations that could be probed by future high-resolution experiments.

While Large Language Models (LLMs) offer transformative potential for automating customer support, significant hurdles remain concerning their reliability, explainability, and consistent performance in complex, sensitive interactions. This paper introduces STELLAR (Structured, Trustworthy, and Explainable LLM-Led Architecture for Reliable Customer Support), a novel architectural blueprint designed to address these issues. STELLAR utilizes a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) structure composed of nine specialized modules and eleven predefined workflows to orchestrate support interactions in a structured and predictable manner. This design promotes enhanced traceability, reliability, and control compared to less constrained systems. The architecture integrates components for few-shot classification, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), urgency-aware human escalation, compliance verification, user interaction validation, and knowledge base refinement through a semi-automated loop. This modular design deliberately balances LLM-driven innovation with operational requirements such as human-in-the-loop integration and ethical safeguards through embedded checks. We evaluated the core modules of STELLAR in key tasks - classification, retrieval, and compliance - demonstrating strong performance and reliability. Together, these features position STELLAR as a robust and transparent foundation for the next generation of intelligent, reliable customer support systems.

In the Atlantic Ocean, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) sustains the climate of northeastern Brazil and northwestern Africa by modulating their rainy and dry seasons. Using observational data, radiosondes and Expendable Bathythermographs (XBTs), we investigated short-term ocean–atmosphere coupling across the ITCZ region along the 38° W meridian. The data represents synchronous measurements of the marine atmospheric boundary layer (MABL) and the ocean’s mixed layer (OML) for the period between 17 October and 8 November 2018. The ITCZ demonstrated pronounced variability in position, intensity, and width, driven by the changes in the predominance of northeast and southeast trade winds. These atmospheric changes directly impacted the Equatorial Divergence (ED), which transitioned from an asymmetric structure with shallower isothermal layer depths (ILDs) (~−14 m) around 11° N to a more homogenous region between 5° N and 10° N, with an average ILD of −21.83 ± 5.23 m. A comparison with ORAS5 and WOA23 indicates that the products reproduce the vertical thermal structure of the WTAO well (r2 > 0.9) but systematically overestimate the temperature at the bottom of the ILD by 3–4 °C. The difference between the ILD and the mixed layer depth (MLD) is more pronounced south of the ED due to the Amazon River salinity front, advected by the NECC, but the ILD estimated from XBT data closely matches the MLD estimated for ORAS5 and WOA23 in the ED region. These unprecedented observations showcase, for the first time, short-term ocean–atmosphere coupled variability across the WTAO ITCZ region, highlighting the importance of atmospheric synoptic-scale processes in modulating the OML and the ED.

This article aims to investigate, based on teachers’ narratives, whether the curricular policy and the Political-Pedagogical Project (PPP) of rural schools in a municipality in the Triângulo Mineiro region favor the recognition of numeracy practices related to peasant social practices. The qualitative research was conducted with six teachers working in rural schools in the municipal network. Semi-structured interviews were used as data production instruments, which were analyzed in light of the concepts of teacher literacy, numeracy, and studies on curricular policies. The teachers’ narratives reveal gaps between the prescribed curricular proposal and the pedagogical practices of teachers working in rural schools, although individual efforts to mediate between the prescribed curriculum and the reality experienced by students are noticeable. There is also a lack of teacher training focused on the specificities of Rural Education, which compromises the articulation between official documents and teaching practices. It is concluded that it is urgent to develop curricular proposals that take into account local knowledge and rural culture, particularly to promote Mathematical Education for the Countryside, as well as the promotion of ongoing teacher training for the development of a critical education and appreciation of the Countryside.

Understanding water quality (WQ) is essential for grasping biogeochemical cycles and assessing human impacts such as deforestation, climate change, dam construction, illegal mining, and urbanization. However, monitoring WQ across Brazil’s vast aquatic systems requires significant resources. Remote sensing improves this process by offering high-resolution and large-scale observations. Nevertheless, to produce reliable remote-sensing WQ products based on remote sensing demands comprehensive datasets with concurrent aquatic reflectance and in situ measurements (e.g., Chlorophyll-a, Secchi Disk Depth, Suspended Sediments). Such data enables advanced semi-analytical and machine learning models to capture Brazil’s bio-optical water complexity. Collaborative efforts and open-data sharing are essential for building these datasets. Here, we introduce a new curated, high-quality bio-optical dataset across different aquatic systems in Brazil, called BRAZA (Bio-optical aquatic database for remote sensing of water quality in BRAZil coAstal and inland waters). By leveraging data from 17 institutions, covering 2,895 stations across + 128 lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and coastal areas of Brazil’s five administrative regions our dataset presents an important contribution to support remote sensing WQ-based analysis in Brazil.
